As a former player (many years ago!!,ie. 1969-72 under Hughie Barr), I have recently discovered computers,the internet, , & other connected wonders of this world! My best & happiest years as a footballer were undoubtedly with Ely & memories of that period playing at the Paradise & knowing so many good & friendly people. I have read Sam’s pages & found them most interesting & nostalgic. I remember Sam as if it were last year, though in reality, it was 35 years ago!!Those days were good & we had a good side. Runners-up to Lowestoft in the League 1970. Lost to Parson Drove in Cambs Inv.Cup Final though. Broke my arm & Eric Simper replaced me in goal I recall. But a great couple of seasons under Hughie. How many non league sides would like Lester & Maurice up front for them now?
So many memories. Could go on & on.
Will endeavour to vist The Unwin Ground this season.
It’s time The Robins were riding high again in the Premier Division.

Good luck for next season. How about a message board like other teams such as lowestoft,kirkley, wroxham and sudbury as the clubs mentioned have good message boards and that can only mean that people on message boards means people interested which in turn could lead to the interested people coming through the gate.
